Renovation progressing according to plan
The extensive renovation of the Tullikamari Cultural Centre is proceeding as scheduled, with construction work expected to be completed by the end of August 2026. The renovation includes the construction of a new basement level, upgrades to the building’s technical systems, improvements to acoustic solutions, and enhancements to accessibility and safety in both the Pakkahuone and Klubi venues.
According to the current estimate, the facilities can be handed over to Kulttuurikamari Oy at the earliest in early September 2026. The handover requires, among other things, approval from the City of Tampere Building Control as well as the completion of all required handover stages.
Opening aligned with the Tampere Jazz Happening
Based on current plans, Tullikamari will open to the public in connection with the Tampere Jazz Happening, which will take place from 29 October to 1 November 2026. The 45th edition of the Tampere Jazz Happening offers a natural occasion for the introduction of the renewed facilities, as it is one of the city’s longest-running and most respected music events. The festival programme will be published in September 2026.
The detailed opening schedule for the Tullikamari Cultural Centre will be confirmed once all inspection stages required for commissioning have been approved and the City of Tampere has handed the premises over to Tampereen Kulttuurikamari Oy. Kulttuurikamari Oy will announce the forthcoming programme for Pakkahuone and Klubi on Monday, 13 April 2026.
