The application for annual plots for urban farming starts on 7 April

The application for annual plots for urban farming in the City of Tampere starts on Tuesday 7.4. at 12.00. This summer, the city has areas for annual plots in Hikivuori, Irjala, Järvensivu, Koivistonkylä, Rusko, Takahuhti and Tohloppi.

In addition to plots, urban farming is possible in allotment gardens and community gardens.

The City of Tampere has 14 plot areas in different parts of the city for urban farming. Some of the plots are perennial and some are annual. This year, annual plots are available in seven areas. The application period for the plots starts on Tuesday 7 April at 12 noon and ends on Wednesday 22 April at 23.55. 

The size of the plots varies between 20 and 200 square metres. Prices are low and vary according to plot type and growing season. You can check the current rental prices for the city's plots on the website of the Tampere 4H Association. The Tampere 4H Association is responsible for managing and renting the plots.

Organic farming is encouraged and the use of pesticides, for example, is prohibited.

To apply for a plot, fill in the form

In addition to plots, urban farming is also possible in many allotment gardens and community gardens. These farming opportunities are managed by various organizations. Information about all these possibilities has been collected on the City of Tampere website. The website will be updated and supplemented.

You can apply for an annual plot in one of the areas of your choice. If there are more applicants than plots, they will be assigned by lottery. You can apply for a plot by filling in the 4H Association's application form.
