A total of 613 000 euros was distributed in general subsidies, 125 609 euros in facility subsidies, and 21 400 euros in separate subsidies for additional costs arising from the renovation of Tullikamari. With grants for festivals and large public events, the city supports established, high-quality cultural events that strengthen Tampere's appeal and bring a diverse range of cultural offerings within reach of city residents. Grants are awarded to events that are professional, artistically high-quality, and influential both locally and nationally. This year, 17 event organizers received general grants. The total amount of grants is the same as last year.
– The festivals held in Tampere play an important role in strengthening the vitality and well-being of city residents. With these grants, we support events that offer high-quality cultural experiences and bring life and tourists to the city. We want to ensure that the event scene remains diverse in the coming years, says Anne-Mari Jussila, Deputy Mayor for Cultural Services.
Venue grants were awarded to three organizations: Tampere Film Festival, Tampere Theater Summer, and Pispalan Sottiisi, to which the city is providing venues worth a total of 125 609 euros for their events. The amount of space subsidies has increased because the renovation of Tullikamari has required two operators to move to temporary premises, which have higher rental costs than before. The same operators were also granted 21 400 euros in separate grants to cover the additional costs caused by the renovation. The separate grants are one-off payments.
