UMK is celebrated in Tampere in February 2026 – let’s build the UMK atmosphere together
– We invite companies and communities to be part of the celebration of new Finnish music. Whether it’s a pink-lit sauna, a cover gig night, themed menus or UMK viewing parties, all ideas that add to the festive atmosphere are welcome. Together we can create something fun and memorable for both residents and visitors, says Saara Saarteinen, Event Manager.
UMK will be visible across the Tampere cityscape. Landmarks will be illuminated in pink and purple, and statues and public spaces will be decorated in UMK style. The city community is also welcome to light up and decorate their own spaces. On Saturday, 28 February, the Tampere Calling! music container will bring music and UMK vibes to Sori Square, setting the mood for the big night.
– UMK is a joyful phenomenon that brings people together. It’s fantastic to see how actively residents, entrepreneurs and different communities have joined in during previous years. UMK shows that Tampere truly is a city of events – and that everyone is part of the celebration,” Saarteinen adds.
Information about UMK-related events will be compiled in the Tampere event calendar and Visit Tampere’s website will feature special offers and tips for a memorable UMK weekend. The same pages provide instructions on how to register programmes and use the official campaign visuals.
– A lot of exciting things are being prepared, but we can’t reveal all the details yet!
