What was Tampere's cultural deed of 2025? Nominate your favourite for the award
What was the buzz in 2025? An impactful cultural deed can be a product, service, artwork, event, performance, organisation, association, person or something else entirely. The City of Tampere has awarded the Cultural Deed of the Year prize every year since 2007. The criterion is that the Cultural Deed of the Year has developed, enriched or diversified Tampere's cultural life through its existence or activities. The prize can not awarded to the City of Tampere itself. The Cultural and Leisure Committee decides on the Cultural Deed of the Year from among the nominations.
In 2024, the award was given to Club Vastavirta, which has diversified Tampere's music and events scene. In previous years, awards have been given to Tavara-asema, Ikuri's Ice Sculpture Trail, Tampere Steampunk Festival, G Livelab, Kulttuuritoimitus, Kulttuuriosuuskunta TRELMU, Tampere Chamber Music festival, Päivä Tampereella 1918 crew: Vihan päivät 1918 drama, Tuliteatteri Flamma: Narrien uni performance, director Marika Vapaavuori: Euroopan Nuorten Olympiafestivaalin avajais- ja päätösohjelma, Maailmantango festival, Teatteri Siperia & journalist Matti Wacklin, Kehitysvammaisteatteri La Strada, Hukkatila ry's Kesäsiirtola action, Annikki Poem Festival, Maria Mattila & Keltainen talo, SirkusRakkausPumPum ry and Pertti Ketonen & Grafiikanpaja Himmelblau: Finlayson Art Area.
