Independence Day will once again be celebrated in the Children's Independence Day Dance!

The Children's Independence Day will be celebrated on Saturday 6.12. at Tampere Hall's Park Hall with the theme "The whole world celebrates." The Independence Day celebration will feature, in addition to dancing, wonderful performances, music and a diverse festive program. The event aimed at all families will be celebrated in two parts and you can participate either 1–3 pm or 3–5 pm. This year the event will be hosted in both Finnish and English.

DJ Sara-Maaria will be playing best music mix for the dance floor. Dance moves will be taught by Razzmatazz dance studio. The event will also feature performances by Razzmatazz students. The children's music group Loiskis will take the audience on a fun musical journey around the world and the fire art group Flamma will illuminate the party with their fantasy-themed LED light show. Deputy Mayor Ilkka Porttikivi will bring greetings from the city to the first part of the dance. 

The event will be hosted by Veera Degerholm, familiar from Pikku Kakkonen, and Emma, Rory, and Mariana from the Children's Parliament. The program includes also Independence Day greetings in different languages, Rulla's art workshop, Children's Parliament's wheel of fortune and fishing game and the Children's Gallery's exhibition Let’s Celebrate! in the Winter Garden. The café is run by Tampere City Youth Services. 

The program content is the same in both parts. The doors will open to the public 15 minutes before the event begins. The event is suitable for the whole family. Guests are welcome to dress up for the dance, but everyone is free to participate in the celebration however they wish.  

The event is organized in cooperation with the City of Tampere’s Children's Cultural Centre Rulla, Children’s Parliament and Tampere Hall.
