In January 2024, people skated in a festive atmosphere at the opening of Ahvenisjärvi Sports Park artificial ice rink.

The Lielahti artificial ice rink will open for public skating on Saturday 22 November. The aim is also to have the artificial ice rink at Ahvenisjärvi ready for skating by Sunday 23 November at the latest.

The city's artificial ice rinks are open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. However, the actual skating time at Lielahti will end at 9.30 pm when the lights on the rink are dimmed, and the same will be done at the Sorsapuisto rink when the artificial ice rink there will be ready for skating.

As a rule, the artificial ice rinks will be open for public skating, with the exception of the Koulukatu rink, where weekday shifts are allocated to schools and kindergartens and other times to junior ice hockey players. However, there are also separate public skating shifts at the Koulukatu field, the times of which can be found in the Timmi booking system.

For up-to-date information on the condition of the ice at Tampere's artificial ice rinks, Sorsapuisto, Koulukatu, Ahvenisjärvi and Lielahti, please check the Outdoor Sports Conditions Service.
