A mural called "With the power of nature" painted under the Näsin puistosilta park bridge

The colorful mural features playful imaginary characters in the lively atmosphere of an amusement park and the surging waters of Tammerkoski. The mural’s location is right at the mouth of Tammerkoski on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi, with a view of the Särkänniemi amusement park. In addition, a playful graffiti piece matching the spirit of the mural was created on the walls of the spiral staircase leading down from the Näsin puistosilta.

The work was created by two professional mural artists, Hennakirsikka Halme and Ossi Pirkonen. The unique and impressive location served as the starting point for the mural’s theme. The artists designed the piece together, after which each interpreted it in their own style and perspective.

The spiral staircase section was executed by graffiti artist Zumie, who used the same paints and shades as in the mural.

–"With the power of nature" beautifully combines the various characteristics of the location and the styles of the two artists into a playful whole. The lively color palette interacts playfully with both the Näsin puistosilta and Särkänniemi, describes landscape specialist Mirjam Larinkari from the City of Tampere’s green areas and stormwater unit.

The mural’s creation was challenged by the capricious cold and damp weather of autumn, but in the end, there were enough clear and sunny days to complete the work.

A new waterfront route under the Näsin puistosilta and the nearby Mustanlahdentörmä were completed in early summer 2025. From the waterfront route under the bridge, stairs lead up to the Näsin puistosilta. The waterfront route continues along the shore of Lake Näsijärvi and the Mustanlahdentörmä to the Mustalahti harbor.

The street art piece was commissioned by the City of Tampere and realized in cooperation with Next Level Street Art Oy.

The surface area of the work is about 100 square meters.
