Tampere Residents’ Evenings begin in August – Come hear about the City’s latest initiatives

The popular Tampere Residents’ Evenings are starting up again. This autumn, four regional events will be held across different parts of Tampere. Locals are warmly invited to join in, hear about current city matters, and share their thoughts on them. The evenings also offer a chance to discover the activities of local associations and enjoy live music.

Tampere Residents’ Evenings are community events where people can learn about and share their views on current city matters.

The events are open to everyone and free of charge. You’re welcome to attend even if you don’t live in the area. All gatherings follow the city’s safer space principles.

You can drop by for a short visit or stay longer. The information booths can be explored at your own pace, and you’re free to dive deeper into topics that interest you. Experts will be on site to discuss matters in Finnish or English.

In addition to the city-related content, the events feature live music and opportunities to get to know the activities of local associations.

Four evenings across Tampere

This autumn, four regional Tampere Residents’ Evenings will be held:

  • Kaleva: Wed 27 August 2025, 17:00–18:30 (Kaleva Hall, Sarvijaakonkatu 28)
  • Tesoma: Tue 2 September 2025, 17:00–18:30 (Tesoma Wellbeing Centre, Tesomankatu 4)
  • City Centre: Thu 4 September 2025, 17:00–18:30 (Tullintori, Tullikatu 6)
  • Hiedanranta: Tue 16 September 2025, 17:00–18:30 (Lielahti Manor, Tehdaskartanonkatu 38)

Each event has its own unique program, but all evenings will include presentations on the following matters:

  • the city’s service network plans for culture, education and upper secondary schools
  • Tampereen raati (the Tampere Panel)
  • updates to the city’s grant application process
  • the Mansen Massit Community Grant initiative

– There will also be plenty of other information about the city, says Jarno Koskinen, the Regional Coordinator responsible for organizing the events.

Music and local associations on display

– Tampere Residents’ Evenings are relaxed and cheerful by nature. Live music sets the mood at every event, Koskinen adds.

Performers include singer Laura Moisio in Kaleva and Hiedanranta, Paul Elias in the City Centre, and Orffit in Tesoma.

Local associations and community groups will also be present to showcase their activities. There’s still room for a few more local participants – interested organizations can sign up using the registration form: Register your association for Tampere Residents' Evenings.

More detailed programs for each evening are available on the Tampere Residents' Evenings website.

Two more events coming this autumn

In addition to the regional evenings, two more events will take place later in the season.

On Tampere Day, 1 October 2025, the main library Metso will host a Tekoja! event – a day dedicated to civic engagement. As part of the event, residents can meet City Council members over coffee at a special Tampere Residents’ Evening.

Later in the year, another event is planned where residents will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the mayor and city leadership. More information will be announced closer to the date.
