Schools start in Tampere on Wednesday 6 August

The autumn term for basic education schools in Tampere will begin on Wednesday 6 August 2025. Approximately 1,800 first-grade pupils will begin school this autumn.

Pre-primary education also starts when schools start. Approximately 2,000 children will begin pre-primary education in Tampere. In comprehensive schools (classes 1–9), approximately 18,700 pupils will start their school work.

When schools begin, it is important that all road users observe caution and pay attention to traffic safety.
