One-off fee for general sports shifts

During the summer, Sports Services will test a new approach in five school halls and two sports facilities. The vacant sessions will be opened to the public in the same way as the general sessions in the gyms. The public sports shifts will be available from 9 June to 3 August 2025.

The summer trial will offer the possibility to use the available sports facilities for independent training. For the trial sports facilities, a number of sports have been provisionally identified as being best suited to the space in question. The sports are indicative, i.e. they will allow play if there are enough users for the same shift. Of course, if there is space available in the facility, it is also possible to practise a sport other than the one indicated in Timmi booking system.

Where can I find general sports shifts?

The following sports facilities and their sports are included in the trial (in Finnish in Timmi):

Etelä-Hervannan koulutalo, volleyball
Hervannan ammattikoulu, futsal
Sammon keskuslukio, free sport
Sammon uusi koulu, badminton
Tammelan koulu, basketball
Kaukajärven vapaa-aikatalo, volleyball
Tesoman palloiluhalli, free sport

All participating sports facilities can be found in Timmi booking system under "Yleinen vuoro/laji"(General shift/sport). In Timmi system you can browse the available slots and choose the one you like. Shifts are available at schools on weekdays from 5 pm to 8 pm and at the Kaukajärvi Leisure Centre and at the Tesoma Sports Hall during opening hours on weekdays. There are badminton and volleyball nets and goals for futsal and floorball on the premises, but you must bring your own balls, rackets and other sport-specific equipment.

How do I pay for my shifts?

You can access an open slot by buying a personal ticket from the Sports services' online shop for €2.60. The ticket will be shown to the staff at the sports facility, who will check its validity.

Users are advised to check their shifts on Timmi system before going to the sports facility in question. Users cannot be informed of possible cancellations of the general shifts. The ticket is personal and entitles the holder to access one session. The ticket does not allow you to reserve the facility for yourself.

The staff at the sports facilities will assist in setting up the sport-specific conditions at the facility, if necessary.

Based on the experience and feedback from the summer season, there is a possibility of continuing the activity.
