Grants totaling €15,000 available for cultural projects to revitalize the western city centre
Culture District is a development project for the western part of the city centre in Tampere. In cooperation with a range of stakeholders from the district, the City of Tampere is working to increase the area's attractiveness by highlighting its original atmosphere and services.
The aim is to make both Tampere residents and visitors alike to enjoy the area and its services time and again. Culture District has its own browser-based digital map, which brings together services, routes and events in the area.
The district's attractiveness will be developed through multidisciplinary cooperation
The city centre's vitality will be developed in a cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary way. Cultural operators can now apply for funding to organise activities in the area between 1 September and 31 October 2025.
The City of Tampere has set aside a separate budget of €15,000 for these grants. The maximum grant awarded for an individual application is EUR 3,000.
These project grants will support the implementation of events and projects that complement the local cultural offering in the western city centre.
Event organisers can collaborate with local partners, for instance by making use of the facilities provided by the Cultural District network.
Grants are awarded for non-profit cultural activities
Project grants are open to associations, non-profit organisations, working groups, independent producers, and artists. Only activities that are of general benefit can be funded. This means that you cannot apply for grants for business activities or for sales promotions.
The call for applications is open from 15 June to 30 September 2025 and the event must take place between 1 September and 31 October 2025.
The applicant must be able to contribute other financing as well for the planned activity. Voluntary work can also be accepted as such. More information on this can be found via the project grants link.
In the 'Further information' section of the application form, please write 'Culture District', to indicate that you are applying for this specific funding. When planning the event and submitting the application, it's important to take into account the timeframe for application processing and schedule of the event.
