The City of Tampere is participating in the Manse Pride Week parade and events

Manse Pride Week celebrates the diversity and equality of people and honors those who belong to sexual and gender minorities, also known as the rainbow community.

The City of Tampere is participating in Manse Pride Week by organizing rainbow-themed programs in museums, libraries, youth services and sports services. You can find more details about the program in Tampere's event calendar.

The Mayor will declare rainbow peace and march at the front of the parade

Manse Pride Week at Tampere culminates in a march and main celebration on Saturday, June 14th.

The starting point of the Pride march is Keskustori. Before the parade begins, the City of Tampere will distribute small 13-striped Tampere pride flags to participants. Tampere has its own very inclusive pride flag. The flag's colored stripes represent the whole diversity of all the different identities within the rainbow (LGBTIAQ+) community.

Tampere's Mayor, Ilmari Nurminen, will declare Tampere rainbow peace from the balcony of the Raatihuone Town Hall at 1:15 PM. After the declaration of rainbow peace, around 2:00 PM, the Manse Pride march will head towards Sorsapuisto Park. Mayor Nurminen and the new deputy mayors will march at the head of the parade together with representatives of Sinuiksi ry, the event organizer.

Following the pre-registered groups, the City of Tampere will lead the open section of the parade with its own Pride flag under the slogan "Tampere for All". Everyone who supports equality, non-discrimination and human rights for all is welcome to join. This section is suitable for those who belong to the sexual and/or gender majority or minority and those who do not have their own group or company in the parade.

The main event of Manse Pride Week will take place in Sorsapuisto, where the program will begin once the parade arrives. The park will feature a diverse cultural program, information, and the opportunity to meet city representatives working with all minorities and human rights. The park celebration will end at 6:00 PM.

Manse Pride Week is organized by Sinuiksi ry. The City of Tampere is the main partner of the event.
