Haihara Art Centre's summer season kicks off again with two exhibitions

This year, Haihara's summer exhibitions will include a joint exhibition of museum masters, collages by a German artist-in-residence and 1980s aesthetics.

Haihara Art Centre’s Summer Season is here again! The exhibition season opens with The Degree show of basic art education of Sara Hildén Academy’s adult students on 10.5! The exhibition is the culmination of the students' study journey and features paintings, ceramics, installations, sculptures, mixed media, drawings, and moving images from 12 artists. The themes of the exhibition also reflect diversity. The students have drawn inspiration for their works from topics such as femininity and girlhood, Finnish mythology, religious symbolism, and everyday care. The artists in the exhibition are Peetu Hannukainen, Hanna Kivelä, Anna-Maija Lehtinen-Kluth, Jaakko Leinonen, Eeva Majalahti, Saara Melama, Jonna Niiniaho, Jari Rantanen, Kirsi Soini, Marjukka Tainio, Viljalaura Viitanen, and Raisa Wester.

At the same time, Juho Hakkarainen's paintings and the VHS Klubi’s exhibition will be on display in the Stable. In his acrylic paintings, Hakkarainen explores the relationship between the city and nature: differences, overlaps, contradictions, and harmony. Beneath countless layers of color pulses the city's heartbeat and flows the continuous change and movement of nature.

The Tampere-based VHS Klubi is celebrating its 10th anniversary, so it's time to celebrate! The exhibition includes installations from demolition art houses, posters from throughout history, lots of TVs, an exercise bike, and paintings by club members. The artists in the exhibition are Kalevi Suopursu, Ville Färsaaret, Juuso Ala-Kyyny, Laura Ahvonen, Ville Suopajärvi, and Anna Pesonen.
