Europe Day and the 30th anniversary of Finland’s EU membership will be celebrated at the Central square on Saturday, 10 May starting at 12 noon. The programme – hosted by Matti Rönkä – includes an interview with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Henna Virkkunen, greetings from the Mayor Kalervo Kummola, a panel discussion featuring Finnish MEPs and moderated by Matti Mörttinen, EU news in Tampere dialect, Anne-Mari Kivimäki Ensemble and children’s programme.
In the afternoon, cake and coffee will be served at the Central square. The day ends with a sing-along with Marita Taavitsainen. The event is organised by the European Commission's Representation in Finland and the European Parliament's Liaison Office in cooperation with the City of Tampere.
