Tampere Residents' Evenings are open and free of charge for anyone interested. You can attend the evenings held in different parts of the city even if you don’t live in the area.
In the spring 2025 events, participants will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the city’s development. Each evening will feature information on the Tampere survey related to the preparation of the city’s strategy, the city’s welfare work, the city’s land and housing policy guidelines, cultural work in residential areas, and the Welcoming City program.
In addition to these themes, some evenings will present topics of particular interest to local residents. For example, in Linnainmaa, the topic will be the relocation of youth facilities and the expansion of the library into the youth center’s premises. In Nekala, a new cultural center will be introduced.
Participants can visit various information points during the evening and explore the topics that interest them at their own pace.
– City experts will be present to gladly share information about their topics and discuss them. They can also be asked to explain more simply if the topic seems complex or if the language they use is difficult. You can ask questions in Finnish or English, says Regional Coordinator Jarno Koskinen.
Enjoy and network
– Tampere Residents' Evenings are relaxed events that are easy to attend. The pleasant atmosphere is created by music and other art performances, which can be enjoyed by the whole family, says Koskinen.
In Linnainmaa, there will be duo Ilaria Tucci and Tuomas Luukkonen performing Neapotan songs. The star of the evening in Hervanta will be singer-songwriter Samae Koskinen. In Nekala, the main attraction will be rock musician Joni Ekman, and in Peltolammi, the children’s music band Orffit.
In addition, the Peace Choir of Legioonateatteri will perform in Hervanta, and a student group from Sorin Sirkus will perform in Nekala. The program for the English-speaking evening in the city center will be published later. The program starts everywhere around 5:30 PM.
Each evening will also feature local associations presenting their activities to the residents.
