The Penkkarit event drives through Hämeenpuisto on Thursday 6 February
The school-leaving festivities (Penkkarit) of final-year upper secondary school students will take place in Hämeenpuisto on Thursday 6 February 2025 at 13.00–14.00.
People can see the traditional Penkkarit event in Hämeenpuisto.
The event will include participants from all upper secondary schools in Tampere, from Pirkkala upper secondary school and from the Tredu units that offer upper secondary school studies in Tampere.
Approximately 50 lorries will carry the students through Hämeenpuisto. The lorries will drive to Hämeenpuisto directly from the upper secondary schools and follow their routes back to the schools after the event.
Penkkari posters will mostly be attached to the driver’s side of the lorries (left side), which means that the park is the best place for viewing the event. The students will also throw the traditional Penkkari candies to spectators in the park.
