The City of Tampere buys housing services for aged people in group homes and service centres from various organizations and service providers located in various districts.
Service homes and group homes provide housing and necessary facilities for aged persons in poor health. Such housing and facilities are provided for those who cannot cope with everyday living in their own homes, but who do not need old-age home or hospital care either.
The basic services of assisted housing include meals, hygiene, security, cleaning and assistance in handling practical everyday affairs. This is in addition to the possibility of receiving help at any time day or night. Services provided are determined by the resident’s personal service and care plan.
People apply for service and group Homes through the Home Care Department of the relevant district.
Kotitori - Information Office for Elderly People provides additional information on housing services organized either by the city or private organizations.
