Page content in brief

If you need to use an area owned by the City of Tampere for your own purposes, you must obtain a public area permit. A permit is required in all cases where the area is temporarily reserved for purposes other than general public use.

Permit Processing Break

There will be a Christmas break in permit processing from December 9 to December 29, 2025.

During this time, applications will not be processed, so please submit your permit application well in advance.

The public area permit is applied via an electronic form, and the processing time is approximately 4 weeks. During the review, the suitability of the area for the intended use will be assessed.

Examples of area use that requires a public area permit:

  • Auxiliary areas for construction sites (e.g., storage, site fencing)
  • Parking of service vehicles
  • Filming locations for movies and other productions
  • Landing areas for helicopters, parachutists, or paragliders

Obtaining the public area permit ensures that the use of the area is safe and compatible with other activities in the urban space.
