Presentation of the Maijalanpuisto daycare centre

Our daycare centre is located in Hervanta, in a quiet location near the outdoor recreation areas of Lake Suolijärvi. Thanks to our good location, we can easily make excursions into nature.

Our daycare centre has modern and renovated playgrounds for children and adults.

Maijalanpuisto daycare centre provides a safe and stimulating environment for children to grow and learn.

Our activities are based on open interaction with parents. Respecting and valuing families and listening to parents' wishes helps to support children's growth.

Operation idea

  • We want to provide children with safe boundaries, a non-pressured atmosphere and effective interaction with adults and other children.
  • Our aim is to educate and teach children to make an effort to learn a new skill and to take pleasure in the skills they have acquired
  • We strive to listen to and take into account children's needs and interests, and to involve children in the planning of everyday activities.
  • We emphasise play in everything we do and consider play to be an important tool for learning.

Softly into the world of daycare centre

Please allow enough time to get to know the children. By agreeing to meet your child in advance, we can set aside a suitable time and space for your family to get to know each other and talk.

Your child can get to know the new group and the nursery as many times as you feel necessary, in the company of his or her carer. It is advisable to arrange these visits directly with the staff of your group.

By being involved in the daily life of the nursery and getting to know the nursery life according to your needs and wishes, you as a family will gain insight and experience of the nursery's activities.

It is important that you, the parents, communicate your wishes and expectations before the start of the day care relationship.

The child stays in daycare centre for the first time

When the daycare officially starts and the child stays in the daycare, don't delay the departure, because it makes the moment of separation more difficult. We offer hugs and comfort and security so that the child is comfortable in his new place of care.

Your own sleeping cloth, soft toy, photo of the family, etc. bring security to the child.

Adapting to daycare centre is very individual for everyone and we give the child the time he needs.

Starting daycare centre is always a big change in a child's life. Let's make it safe and good together.

Maintaining a positive tone of speech about daycare and home is important. We strive for an open conversation in all everyday situations, because young children's ears are everywhere.

Important

  • Our nursery is open from 6.00 to 17.00. If necessary, until 18.00.
  • Please book in advance if you need to go beyond 17:00. Preferably 3 days in advance.
  • a child is brought to the daycare cintre, he/she is always handed over to the staff. In this way, the responsibility for the child is transferred from the parents to the nursery.
  • When a child is picked up from the nursery, the staff are always informed. In this way, responsibility for the child is transferred back from the nursery to the parent.
  • When the child is brought in and picked up, an exchange of information takes place with the staff. If there is a need for a longer discussion, an appointment can be made.

Security

If someone other than you is picking up your child from the nursery, please always inform the group staff.

As a rule, we do not issue single-occupancy permits or permits to accompany a sibling. The responsibility is always ultimately with the daycare centre.

All applicants for a child are recorded in the childcare contract.

Please remember to close the gates whenever you pass through them. Only an adult opens and closes the gates. It is important to close all gates.

If your child becomes ill, please notify the group. If a child becomes ill in the middle of a day at daycare, we will call the parents. Phone numbers and other personal information are very important to us and it is always a good idea to inform us of any changes.

In case of an accident in the day care centre, the staff will provide first aid and take the child to Hervanta Health Centre or Acuta. We will also inform the parents without delay. Parents can also take the child to a private medical centre.

The City of Tampere has insured the children against accidents.

Cooperation with parents

You parents are your child's best experts. We, the daycare centre staff, support parenting and home upbringing, and we put our expertise at your disposal. We always work together with parents to get the best possible daycare for your child.

Supporting the child's individual growth, as part of a group, is important. Together with the parents, we draw up the child's early childhood education plan. The evaluation discussion will be held in the spring. You can book a discussion time whenever you feel like it.

At the beginning of the care relationship, a care agreement is drawn up with each family and the families are instructed in the implementation of the eVaka system.

We cooperate with several different parties, including the Maternity and Child Health Clinic. (maternity and child health clinic examinations for children aged 1.5 and 4)

We are bound by professional secrecy in matters concerning our customers.

Our main goal is to provide the child with a good and functional everyday life, taking into account the child's age and developmental needs. We are safe and genuinely present adults.

Like children, parents have the opportunity to influence and participate in the planning and implementation of activities. We develop our operations and from time to time we ask parents for feedback on our activities.

The early childhood education and preschool education of the City of Tampere will also request feedback during the operating period through various customer/quality surveys from you parents.
