Regional actor networks

Tampere has nine regional actor networks, where the city and regional actors meet and work together for the benefit of the region and its residents. The networks are open to associations, communities, businesses and employees of the city and the welfare area.

Regional actor networks bring the city and regional actors together to discuss current issues, strengths and concerns in different regions. The networks enable regional actors to get to know each other, identify different regional development needs and work together to find solutions.

The regional actor networks cover the whole city. Currently, the networks operate in nine regions. If necessary, new, more limited networks can be launched.

Who can get involved

The regional networks are open to associations, communities and businesses in Tampere, as well as to different actors in the city and the welfare area. New actors are welcome to join. The same actor can participate in several networks.

Participants are committed to equality and to the principles of a safer space for the City of Tampere.

How the networks work

The City of Tampere convenes the networks three times a year. However, the content of the meetings comes from all participants.

The network is a forum for informal discussion. Each participant can bring their major or minor observations about the area to the discussion on an equal footing. Concerns are addressed and solutions are found together.

The networks will be shaped according to the needs of the area. For example, participants may address the situation of young people in the area or a group at risk of exclusion. They can also learn about ongoing regional projects and changes affecting people in the area.

Regional actor networks across the city

The regional actor networks meet three times a year: twice in the spring and once in the autumn.
