Nominate a winner for the Technical Creativity Award
The nomination process for the Technical Creativity Award has begun. The award can be presented to Tampere-based teams or individuals who have discovered an innovative way to put technical expertise into practice. Individuals can also nominate themselves for the award. However, nominating companies is prohibited.
Here, technical creativity means a new and original solution that puts technology into practice. For example, the previous winners, Tommi Eronen and Markku Ylönen, had developed a new way to store renewable energy in a so-called sand battery. The principle is that the winning solution has commercial potential or may already have produced commercial results. This will also be taken into account when innovations are evaluated. In other words, the purpose of the award is not to support scientific work.
The winner will be selected by the Technical Creativity Award Committee. The prize amount is EUR 5,000. The award will be presented during the Imagine the metaverse event, which will take place in Tampere between 11 June and 12 June.
The call for nominees for the 2024 award is open from 25 March to 21 April 2024. Nominations should be submitted by using the on-line form. In the form, you should describe the innovation in non-technical terms and in as much detail as possible, so that its intended use is clear. It is recommended that illustrative materials, such as videos, photos, brochures and links, be attached to the application form.
The application form and instructions are available in both Finnish and English.
