How can the city support self-imposed activities of people and communities in Tampere? – Take part in the survey

The City of Tampere is launching a survey for all residents and communities in Tampere to find out how the city can best support self-imposed activities of Tampere residents all over the city. The survey is open until the end of November 2023.

– Tampere is a city of active people, packed with a wide range of active communities. Here, people come up with ideas and organise all kinds of activities, such as yard sales, neighbourhood events and the like, says Hanna Karojärvi, Development Manager at the City of Tampere.

The city wants to support and encourage all kind of activities that spring from the people of Tampere themselves. Self-imposed activities strengthen the sense of community, enhance the well-being and cohesion of the residents and at the same time increase the attractiveness of the city.

– Now we want to hear from the people of Tampere on how the city could best support them in their community-based activities. What do they expect from the city? What kind of activities do residents want to do? Is there something that hinders or prevents people from organising communal activities? Karojärvi asks.

Resident survey and interviews

The purpose of the survey is to find out what kind of support different communities need to organise activities and events. The survey is open until Thursday 30 November 2023. The link to the survey is below.

All Tampere residents, associations and organisations can take the survey. You can answer the survey, even if you're just dreaming of organising something for the whole community.

After taking the survey, you can take part in a prize draw and win cinema tickets.

– We will supplement the information provided by this survey by interviewing associations and organisations in Tampere. The results of the interviews and survey will be used to develop support for community action in the city, says Karojärvi.
