A group exhibition by Riikka Anttonen, Maija Fox, Elina Nissinen and Man Yau will be shown at Gallery Muuntotila in December. On display is an entity composed of different material that is reminiscent of sculptural mixture. The starting point for the exhibition has been space. Free admission.
Tampere's new strategy The City of Action was approved by the City Council on 15 November 2021. The strategy describes the future strategic intent of the City Council and summarises the guidelines according to which the city will be developed in the coming years. The strategy goes up to 2030.
The prevalence of coronavirus in Tampere Region is now at the highest level it has been at any time during the pandemic. The Regional State Administrative Agency for Western and Inland Finland has imposed assembly restrictions in the Tampere Region for indoor public events involving more than 100 people. The restrictions apply to events with an audience in stands. Communal singing events are also subject to restrictions.
The Government of Finland awards the International Gender Equality Prize now for the third time. This year's prizewinner is We Will Stop Femicide Platform, an organisation that does groundbreaking work combating violence against women in Turkey and whose work has a global relevance.
The popular vaccination bus continues its tour around Tampere. In December, the bus will park in front of shops, shopping centres, higher education campuses and the Tampere Central Square (Keskustori). The vaccination bus and the pop-up points provide you with a free COVID-19 vaccination without an appointment.
The exhibition of the Valontaivuttajat collective at the Gallery of Culture House Laikku features works created by using light. The collective specializes in paintings, sculptures, experimental techniques and installations all made with light. Free admission.
The budget of the City of Tampere for the next year and the financial plan for 2022–2025 were approved by the City Council on 15 November 2021. The city's operating expenses in 2022 are estimated at EUR 2.0 billion. The operating margin will increase by 4.5% (EUR 60.6 million) compared to the current year's forecast. According to the budget, the result for the financial year is a deficit of EUR 26.6 million, and during 2022 a financial balancing and productivity programme will be launched.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nadia Murad will visit Finland at the invitation of Prime Minister Sanna Marin. Murad will speak at the International Gender Equality Prize award ceremony on Monday 22 November in Tampere.

Every year, the City of Tampere presents a Technical Creativity Award. The candidate search for the recipient of the year 2021 award has now started and will end on 5th of December 2021. The city is looking for a candidate who has applied technical competence in practice in an innovative way.
