Schools in the city of Tampere updated their instructions relating to the coronavirus epidemic
The comprehensive schools in Tampere have updated their guidelines relating to the coronavirus epidemic based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). The guidelines are intended to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus and infections.
In the current situation at the beginning of the autumn semester, teaching is organised in schools as contact teaching according to the syllabus in all grades.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the most important thing is to prevent the transmission of the disease, to ensure proper hygiene, to avoid unnecessary close contacts and to organise the facilities as spaciously as possible. The guidelines are updated whenever the epidemic situation so requires.
During school trips, national safety and hygiene guidelines are followed during transportation. The guidelines are updated, for example, concerning the use of possible face masks in accordance with national recommendations.
In schools, the activities can be staggered by taking breaks in shifts and utilising outdoor pedagogy and the city's different learning environments. In their own guidelines, schools further specify the methods of safe schooling that are suitable for each learning environment.
Concerning face masks, schools follow national guidelines. The voluntary use of face masks is not prohibited.
Mealtimes will be staggered. Good hygiene is ensured when cooking, distributing and eating meals. Meals are arranged in accordance with the operating models suitable for each school in cooperation with Pirkanmaan Voimia Oy and other service providers.
Afternoon hobby groups start as scheduled, taking into account safety and hygiene instructions. The use of outdoor spaces is preferred. Instructions for the safe use of shared tools can be found at the locations.
