Application period for day care available in the autumn has begun
The application period for children's day care and early education clubs for August 2017 has started in Tampere. The application period ends on 19 March 2017.
The primary means for applying for a place is the electronic application form on the City of Tampere’s website. If necessary, the application form can be printed on the city’s website or picked up from the Day care customer guidance office (address Voimakatu 11).
Day care services start their operations on 7 August 2017 and clubs on 11 August 2017.
More information on day care, different day care alternatives and the application procedure can be found on the City of Tampere’s website. The website also provides information on day care centres that provide child care services in the evenings and for shift workers, on language groups as well as on open early childhood education clubs intended for children under school age and their families.

Applications for a place in day care can also be sent year-round outside the application period. A place must be applied for at least four months before the need for day care begins.
Families living in the Tampere region can also apply for a place in day care for their children in other municipalities in the region (Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Vesilahti and Ylöjärvi). The application is made for both the applicant’s own municipality of residence and the region. When making the selection, priority is given to the residents of the municipality in question. A place can be granted for children in the region only if there are open places left. The regional agreement between municipalities is valid until the start of preschool education. If the child is granted a place in another municipality in the region, the day care shall be covered by an outsourcing agreement.
