International home care Safe seminar to be held in Tampere 15 - 16 September
The City of Tampere will arrange an internal "Sustainable Ageing in Future Europe – SAFE" project invitation seminar on 15–16 September 2016. The focus of the project is on developing future home care and living at home. The special theme of the event to be arranged in Tampere is the customer guidance of senior citizens. There will be seminar participants from Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands.
The seminar will feature the City of Tampere’s customer guidance model, culture and leisure services as part of the care of senior citizens, Kotitori (Home marketplace), and also include a visit to Kuusela home marketplace. In addition, senior researcher Jaana Leikas from VTT will discuss technology and ageing in an ICT society and Jaakko Valvanne, Professor of Geriatrics, will talk about ways to support living at home in the light of the most recent research.
The event will be arranged in English and its presentations can be watched live at the address www.safeage.eu. You can use the hashtag #safeage to join the discussion on the seminar in social media.
The goal of the SAFE project is to develop future home care and living at home. Launched in 2015 and scheduled to end in June 2017, the project involves Tampere, Helsingborg from Sweden, Foligno from Italy and the WVO care organisation, which provides services to senior citizens in Middelburg, Vissingen and Veere in the Netherlands. Each participating city will arrange a seminar in turn.
