The City of Tampere and the Youth Services would like to thank everyone who participated in the park meal!
The summer 2024 park meal was a joint effort between the City of Tampere and several partners. This year, for the first time, the overall coordination was done by the City Youth Services. Alongside the city, the main implementers were TampereMissio in Kaukajärvi, Hukat Hervanta in Hervanta, SPR Tampere in Tesoma and Kansalaistalo Mansikkapaikka in Lielahti. In addition, many organisations, companies, city actors and private individuals provided a programme and assistance with food distribution.

The park meal
The City of Tampere has been organising park meals for children and young people under the age of 16 since 2021, the first park meal area was at Peltolammi. The following summer, the park meal was available in four areas, Peltolammi, Tesoma, Hervanta and Kaukajärvi. In 2023, Lielahti was added as a new area and now in 2024 Nekala.
The park meal offers a programme and free lunch for children and young people under 16 years during the summer. The food is prepared by Pirkanmaan Voimia.
