Youth Council

The meetings of the Tampere Youth Council discuss the topical issues of the Youth Council’s. The Tampere Youth Council meets to discuss topical issues and matters to be decided, hear representatives' greetings about decision-making in the city and the welfare area, and to hear possible guest speakers. The meetings are open to everyone. If you are interested in our activities, you can come by and follow, discuss and participate in our meetings. Youth Council meetings will begin on 16.30 . Kokouksia voi tulla avoimesti seuraamaan ja ne alkavat kello 16.30. Meetings take place at the Youth Cultural Centre Monitoimitalo 13  (Pellavatehehtaankatu 4).

The Youth Council is divided into three different teams to facilitate its activities: supervision of interests, events and communication. The teams are led by the Vice Presidents of the Youth Council. The teams meet about once a month, and their meetings are open to all young people in Tampere

Meetings take place at the Youth Cultural Centre Monitoimitalo 13 (Pellavatehehtaankatu 4) and their meetings are open to all young people in Tampere. Team meetings start at 16.30.

supervision of interests

The team if supervision of interests promotes the objectives of the Youth Council and is responsible for initiatives and positions. It has primary responsibility for coordinating the work with the bodies and organising city-wide board elections.

Event team

The task of the event team is to brainstorm and organise Youth Council events, such as seminars, Nuva evenings and fun events.

Communication team

The communication team is responsible for increasing the visibility of the Youth Council and its recognition and providing information on its activities. The task of the communication team is also to collaborate with youth councils in other municipalities, local organisations and educational institutions and to maintain school godparent activities.

Representatives of Tampere pupil and student body boards from upper comprehensive schools, general upper secondary schools and secondary vocational institutions are invited to meet each other and the Youth Council. The seminars discuss current and important topics concerning young people and provide training. Seminars are organised twice a year. 
 

The Youth Council appoints two representatives and their two deputy representatives to the city council and six committees. The representatives of the Youth Council have the right to speak and be present at meetings, except for matters containing confidential information. The term of the representatives is one calendar year.
