Location on map

The Hatanpää Arboretum is located about three kilometres south of Tampere city centre in the Hatanpää Peninsula, on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi. The Arboretum area comprises three different parks. The Hatanpää manor and villas building are surrounded by an old manor park, officially called Hatanpäänpuisto-Kartano. The actual arboretum was built in the 1970s, and is officially called Hatanpäänpuisto-Arboretum. At its southern end, Vihilahdenpuisto Park begins.

In the Hatanpää Arboretum, you can learn about trees, bushes, perennials, annual summer flowers and spice plants. The pearl of the Arboretum is its rose garden, which is found to the south of the Hatanpää manor building. The rose garden extends to the edge of the old manor park.

The park also contains Hatanpää Manor, the Idman residential palace, and the old barn of Hatanpää Manor, which currently functions as a storage and workshop premise for Hatanpää Hospital. The manor building is in business use and can be rented out for events and functions. The summer house contains City of Tampere office spaces. The arboretum also has two summer cafés. One is close to the shore, by the rose garden, and the other is in the manor building. The public toilet is located to the south of the red-brick barn building, by the park corridor.
