Emil Aaltonen Park

Emil Aaltonen Park is named after vuorineuvos and industrial leader Emil Aaltonen. The park, located opposite Tammelantori Square, was completed in 1914 and, together with Tammelantori, is the most significant public space in its district.

The northern end of the park area is dominated by a fountain which was built in 1969 in honour of Emil Aaltonen's 100th birthday.

The playground at the southern end of the park has been fitted with equipment designed for disabled children but suitable for use by all. The playground features merry-go-rounds, multi-play equipment that is wheelchair accessible, and a swing with a cup seat suitable for disabled children. The ground of the playground is covered with an accessible safety surface coated with artificial grass. The sandbox in the park is also designed for people with mobility limitations.

In the southern section of the playground, there is equipment that will be interesting to larger children, such as the multi-play equipment with slides and a group swing. The wooden animals and wooden shapes create a unique atmosphere in the playground. The stepper and parallel bars also offer exercise options for parents.

In the middle of the area is a large field, which is iced over in winter to make a skating rink.
