Game rooms

Console gaming has become a popular way to spend free time for children, young people and adults alike. In the library, anyone has free access to try console games.  

Reserve the game room through the computer reservation system unless otherwise stated.  

Main library Metso

The game room of the main library Metso's children's section has a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR virtual reality glasses. According to the manufacturer, virtual reality glasses are not suitable for children under the age of 12, so children under the age of 12 may only use glasses under the supervision of a parent.

You can book a game console and VR glasses for an hour. The game console and VR glasses are reserved at the library in the children and youth section or by phone 040 653 1988. 

The game room also has four computers with internet for children under the age of 15. They can be booked for an hour per day in the customer computers’ reservation system.

Lielahti Library

The Lielahti Library's game room has a Nintendo Switch and Playstation 5. You can book a game room for an hour per day. 

Tesoma Library

The Tesoma Library game room is equipped with one PlayStation 5 and one Nintendo Switch console.

You can book the game room for one hour per day at the library’s customer service desk, by phone at +358 40 800 7819, or through the online booking system during the following hours:

Monday–Thursday: 10:00–19:30
Friday: 10:00–17:30
Saturday: 10:00–15:30

At other times, the game room is reserved for use by the youth centre. Controllers for the consoles can be borrowed from the library’s customer service desk. A maximum of four people may use the game room at the same time.

If you have made a reservation, please remember to cancel it if you are unable to attend. Reservations will be cancelled if they are not started within 10 minutes of the booked time.
