Studio – Monitoimitalo 13

Kuva nuorten kulttuurikeskuksen studiosta.

The Youth Culture Centre's studio is for young musicians from Tampere who are taking their first steps towards the stars or who just want to record their own music. You can book 1-2 days at a time to record a demo. The maximum length of a demo is three songs or 15 minutes.

The studio has been built from the ground up with recording use in mind. The space is divided into two structurally soundproofed and acoustic rooms. This allows the studio to be used for recording while other activities are going on in the house. Neither interferes with the other. In addition to the control room (25 m²) and the sound room (24,5 m²), a separate, bookable Stage (128,5 m²) on the other side of the house can be used for recording if required, with direct video and audio links to the control room.

Technology and instruments

At the heart of the control room is the Avid Pro Tools HDX system and the Toft ATB 32 mixer, allowing 32 channels to be recorded simultaneously. The sound room, meanwhile, houses basic band instruments and a high-quality amplifiers (see equipment below).
