Lupa liikkua Lupa harrastaa make up a culture of promoting activity within Tampere early childhood education and care and basic education services, intended to support the well-being of children and youhg people from daycare all the way to the end of their basic education.

Lupa harrastaa activity groups are for all pupils enrolled in Tampere basic education and Lupa treenata activity groups are for pupils in grades 7-9. You may register for the season 2025–2026 groups at anytime.

Groups do not meet during school holidays.

Lupa liikkua lesson reservations are made only by personnel in early childhood education and care, pre-primary education or basic education using separately provided codes. Reservations for staff sports and exercise are only for basic education personnel.

Lupa harrastaa and Lupa treenata groups after school

We organize free of charge hobby groups for basic education pupils after school. There are hundreds of hobby groups available every week throughout the city.

Lupa harrastaa groups are for all pupils in grades 1 through 9. Hobby groups offer a wide range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and animal care.

Lupa treenata are for pupils in grades 7 through 9. Some of these training sessions are directed, some up to the pupils’ own activity. Register for groups from the Hobby calendar or try out the group's activities on site. By registering, you ensure your place in the session.

Note that a child attending an afternoon activities can participate in Lupa harrastaa group if it is held at their own school. Afterwards the child can go or return to the afternoon activities. If the Lupa harrastaa group is not held at their own school, the child can no longer return to the afternoon activities after the hobby group.

Lupa liikkua classes during early education and care or school day

The Lupa liikkua classes comprise more than 2500 lessons full of physical activity in early education and care centres and schools all around Tampere. These classes take place during the daycare and school day. The purposes of the lessons include to broadly develop basic motor skills and skills in handling sporting equipment, to get to know various sports disciplines and forms of exercise, and to make the breadth of available sports and exercise activities in Tampere better known to children and youth. Lupa liikkua classes are reserved only by personnel in early childhood education and care, pre-primary education or basic education.

The lessons incorporate, among other content: football, Finnish baseball, tennis, badminton, floorball, basketball, gymnastics, skateboarding, parkour, dancing, climbing, cycling, gym exercise, wrestling, judo, tricking, ice skating, skiing, orienteering, athletics, cheerleading, trampoline jumping, and activities in an indoor activity park.
