Easter brings changes to public transport timetables and opening hours of city services from Maundy Thursday 2 April to Easter Monday 6 April 2026.

Easter Events in the Tampere region

During Easter, events are organised for all ages. See Visit Tampere's tips!

Easter Events

Public transport

Tampere Regional Transport Nysse operates with Sunday timetables on Friday 3 April, Sunday 5 April and Monday 6 April.

Check the timetables on the Nysse website.

City of Tampere Services

Official services, such as the Tampere Service Point and Nysse customer service at Frenckell, will be closed from Friday, April 3, through Monday, April 6.

Employment and Growth Services customer and phone services will close early on Maundy Thursday 2 April at 15.00.

Libraries

  • On Maundy Thursday 2 April libraries will close at 17.00 or at the normal time if earlier. Mobile libraries will stop running at 16.00. Vuores Library is closed.
  • On Good Friday 3 April, libraries will be closed except for the self-service libraries. Mobile libraries are not operating. Vuores Library is closed.
  • On Saturday 4 April, libraries will be open according to normal opening hours. Mobile libraries are not operating.
  • On Sunday 5 April libraries are closed except for the self-service libraries. Vuores and Lielahti Libraries are closed.
  • On Monday 6 April libraries are closed except for the self-service libraries. Vuores Library is closed.

Self-service libraries will also have normal opening hours on public holidays, except Vuores and Lielahti Libraries have exceptions. During the opening hours, the library doors are opened with a library card and its identification number. The library is not staffed, but you can use the library's services on a self-service basis.

Culture and museums

  • Culture House Laikku and Children's Cultural Centre Rulla are closed 3 April and 6 April.
  • On Maundy Thursday 2 April all museums will close exceptionally at 16.00.
  • On Good Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April, all museums will be closed.
  • Amuri Museum of Historic Housing will open in May 2026.

Indoor Sports Facilities

Indoor sports facilities are open on Maundy Thursday 2 April from 7.30-14.30.

Indoor sports facilities are closed on Good Friday 3 April, Easter Sunday 5 April, and Easter Monday 6 April.

Outdoor sports facilities

Outdoor sports facilities, with the exception of Kauppi Sports Park and self-managed facilities, will be closed during Easter from 3-6 April 2026.

Swimming pools

  • All swimming halls are open as usual on Maundy Thursday, April 2, Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5.
  • Hervanta Swimming Pool will open exceptionally at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4.
  • The Tampere Swimming Centre is also open on Good Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, from 10.00-18.00. Other swimming pools are closed.

Social and health services

The Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa is responsible of the social and health services.
