District programme in Haihara

A district programme is underway in Kaukajärvi and Annala from 2023 to 2025, where the area is being developed together with residents and stakeholders. The development of the Haihara Art Centre is based on the wishes of city residents and stakeholders to make Haihara an even more splendid gem of the area and a communal place.

Wishes were collected through resident surveys and events, as well as several workshops around the Kaukajärvi and Annala areas. Ideas ranged from various yard games to outdoor movies and from wellness days to multicultural food events. Efforts have been made to gradually fulfill wishes through new events, the restoration of the herb garden, and the arrival of sheep to the area in the summer.
