Guide to resident-oriented climate and nature work

Page content in brief

How can city residents be encouraged to participate in climate and nature work? What role can the city play in promoting sustainable everyday life? The guide summarizes the results of the Carbon Neutral Actions program for resident-oriented climate and nature work.

The guide to resident-oriented climate and nature work summarizes the lessons learned and results of the Carbon Neutral Actions development program in English. The English-language brochure is a summary of the Finnish-language guide, but it nevertheless covers the most essential points about the city's role in promoting sustainable everyday life.

The Carbon Neutral Actions development program worked from 2022 to 2025. It planted the seeds of change encouraging various actors to recognize their own role and chances to make everyday life in Tampere more sustainable.

The guide uses a few examples to illustrate the sustainable consumption and mobility experiments carried out in Tampere's neighborhoods as part of the development program. It also highlights the city's diverse roles in promoting sustainable everyday life for its residents.

The guide is designed for climate and environmental experts in cities and municipalities, teachers and early childhood educators, and professionals in many different fields.
