Tampere Residents’ Evening in Peltolammi: Come and discuss local services and the upcoming wellbeing centre

A Tampere Residents’ Evening will be held in Peltolammi on Tuesday 31 March 2026. This open event will provide information about local services and the Peltolammi Wellbeing Centre, the construction of which will begin in autumn 2026. The evening will be rounded off with a performance by the children’s band Mimmit.

The next Tampere Residents’ Evening will take place in Peltolammi on Tuesday 31 March 2026 from 5 to 7 pm at Peltolammi School, Säästäjänkatu 16.

The event is open to everyone and free of charge. Coffee, juice and light refreshments will be available for one hundred people. The Tampere Residents’ Evening follows safer space principles.

Residents’ Evenings are community events where residents, local associations and the city can interact with one another. You may drop in at a time that suits you and explore the topics of interest at your own pace. You can ask questions and discuss the materials on display in both Finnish and English.

– Deputy Mayors will also attend the Peltolammi event to meet residents and discuss matters related to the area, says Jarno Koskinen, the Regional Coordinator responsible for organising the Tampere Residents’ Evenings.

Construction of the wellbeing centre to begin

The Peltolammi and Multisilta area is one of Tampere’s neighbourhood development zones.

– Peltolammi and Multisilta will undergo many changes in the coming years. Come and hear more about these developments and discuss them with us, says Sini Lempinen, Coordinator for the Neighbourhood Development Programme.

Street works have been under way in Lakalaiva and Peltolammi since last autumn in preparation for the new wellbeing centre. Construction of the building will begin in autumn 2026.

– The completion of the Peltolammi Wellbeing Centre will bring changes to the daily lives of many local residents. The building will house a school, a day-care centre, youth facilities and a library. At the Residents’ Evening, you can hear more about the planned activities for the building and the project’s timetable, explains Jani Boström, Project Manager for the wellbeing centre.

Public transport in the area is also set to change. In 2028, bus routes in the Multisilta–Peltolammi area will be reorganised. At the Residents’ Evening, residents can share their mobility needs and thus influence the planning of the new route network.

Participants will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts on local outdoor recreation areas. Residents’ wishes will be taken into account as the city develops hiking routes in the area between Peltolammi, Hervanta and Kaukajärvi.

Art workshop, art memories and a performance by Mimmit

The programme for the Tampere Residents’ Evening also includes cultural activities.

At the City Culture Unit’s art workshop, participants can create their own small artwork and at the same time share what kinds of art and cultural services they find interesting.

At the Tampere Art Museum’s stand, visitors can respond to a survey collecting residents’ memories, thoughts, feelings and experiences of public art in the city.

The evening will culminate in a cheerful and energetic musical performance by the children’s band Mimmit, entertaining both children and adults alike.

Resident activities and local associations

At the Tampere Residents’ Evenings, residents also have the opportunity to learn about associations and organisations that provide activities in the area.

The Multisilta and Peltolammi area offers a wide range of free clubs and other open activities for everyone. During the evening, participants can explore, among other things, the family-oriented Kotila meeting place, as well as the activities of TampereMissio, Setlementti Tampere and Tampereen A-Kilta.
