Have you used Tampere's city bikes or the libraries' hobby or games rooms? Borrowed a tent for a friend for a summer trip or rented someone else's car from a peer-to-peer rental platform? If you answered yes to any of the above, you are a promoter of sharing economy.
Sharing means borrowing, renting and co-owning instead of buying your own. Sharing and the sharing economy are a way to reduce climate emissions from consumption. Reducing the purchase of goods also has an impact on the nature footprint of Finns.
The City of Tampere invites citizens, communities and businesses to promote the sharing of goods and vehicles in Tampere as part of the Yhteiskäytön edistäjät campaign.
– We want to encourage people to consider renting and borrowing as an alternative to buying goods. Sharing is not limited to services provided by private or public operators, such as car rental or library services. Borrowing between family or friends or sharing equipment in a housing company are also important examples of sharing, says Tiina Leinonen from the City of Tampere.
