The results of the joint application will be available on Thursday 11 June 2026 at the earliest - see FAQ section

Are you applying for a place to study in post-compulsory education in spring 2026? The results of the joint application will be finalised in June, and applicants will receive the results on 11 June 2026 at the earliest.

Applicants will be informed of the results of the joint application for post-compulsory education on Thursday 11.6.2026 at the earliest.

The City of Tampere has launched a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on its website, where applicants can find answers to many questions.

For example, you can find information on how to proceed if you have not been offered a place or how to accept a place.

Guidance from your school counsellor

For guidance and help with your application, you can contact the guidance counsellor of your primary school on 11 June, 12 June and 15 June 2026. Each school has published details of its school's policies and the times when each counsellor will be available.

The counsellors will be back on duty from 6 August 2026, when they will resume counselling as required. Until 18 June 2026, you can also contact the principal of your school if you have any questions about the application.

The results will be sent to all applicants

You will be informed of the results of the joint selection by Opintopolku to the email address you have given in your application. The results letter is sent to all applicants, even if they have not been awarded the place they applied for. In addition to the results letter, Opintopolku sends another email with a link to the application form.

In addition to the national results letter, the applicant will receive either an electronic or paper acceptance letter from the institution, with the institution's instructions on how to enrol as a student.

Guardians can check their dependants' application and selection results on the Valpas service. To log in to the service, the user must have a strong authentication.

Compulsory education continues until the age of 18

The joint application is linked to the compulsory education for young people, which was extended in 2021. Secondary education became free of charge for young people covered by the extended compulsory education. Under the law, a young person's compulsory education continues until they turn 18 or until they complete a secondary vocational qualification or matriculation examination.

If a young person does not get a place in a joint call for applications, he or she can apply for education and training on a continuous basis under the guidance of a guidance counsellor at the basic school.

If necessary, questions about compulsory education can be sent by e-mail to [email protected].
