The results of joint applications will be available on Thursday 12 June at the earliest, check out the frequently asked questions

Did you apply for a study place after basic education in spring 2025? The results of the joint applications will be ready in June. Applicants will receive their results from 12 June 2025 onwards.

The City of Tampere has prepared a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) on its website. The list includes answers to many questions that participants in the joint applications may have.

For example, it includes information on what an applicant should do if they haven’t been selected or how to accept a study place.

Guidance from your school’s student counsellor

Young people can seek help from their school’s student counsellor on the application process on 12, 13 and 16 June 2025. Each school provides detailed information on the school’s practices and schedule of their student counsellor.

Student counsellors will return to work on 7 August 2025 and continue your guidance if necessary. Until 19 June 2025, young people can also contact their school’s principal with questions about joint applications.

Everyone receives the results of national applications in a letter

Applicants receive the results of their joint application from Studyinfo to the email address that they included in their application. All applicants receive a results letter, even if they were not selected for the study place they applied for. In addition to the results, Studyinfo will send another email with a link to accept the study place.

In addition to the national result letter, applicants receive an email or paper letter of approval from the educational institution with instructions for registering as a student.

Guardians can check the application and selection results of their dependants in Valpas. Using the service requires strong identification.

Compulsory education lasts until the age of 18

Joint applications are a part of compulsory education, which expanded in 2021. Upper secondary education became free of charge for young people within the scope of extended compulsory education. According to the law, a young person’s compulsory education continues until they turn 18 or they complete an upper secondary qualification (vocational qualification or matriculation examination).

If the young person is not selected for a study place in joint applications, they can apply for a placement through continuous applications under the guidance of their school’s student counsellor.

If necessary, you can send questions about compulsory education to: [email protected].
