Tampere’s Tullikamari Cultural Centre seeks new operator

The City of Tampere is looking for a new operator for the Tullikamari Cultural Centre to take charge of the operations of Pakkahuone and Klubi starting in 2027. The aim of the competitive bidding for the user rights agreement is to find an engaging and innovative concept that enables the production of rich and diverse cultural programming at Tullikamari.

Designed by Georg Schreck and completed in 1901, Tullikamari is a culturally and architecturally significant building. It was repurposed for cultural use in 1988.

Tullikamari is currently undergoing a major renovation, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. After the refurbishment, the total floor area of the facility will be approximately 4 280 gross square metres (brm²), of which about 2,500 net rentable square metres (htm²) will be handed over to the new operator. The maximum combined audience capacity of Pakkahuone and Klubi will remain at 1 500.

The goal of the tender is to further develop Tullikamari as a vibrant cultural hub, to expand Tampere’s music and cultural offerings, and to maintain Tullikamari’s reputation as one of Finland’s premier live venues. The programme is expected to be diverse and inclusive, offering not only mainstream music but also alternative and niche cultural content for a range of audiences.

The City of Tampere published the procurement notice for the user rights agreement on 25 April 2025 in the Hilma procurement service. The deadline for submitting tenders is 30 May 2025 at 12:00 (EEST).
