Accident insurance

Students at The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region are insured regardless of age during their studies and during direct travel related to those studies. Direct travel refers to the most direct route to and from the mentioned activity.

An accident does not include injuries caused by movement or physical exertion. Nor does it include incidents caused by a pre-existing defect, injury, or illness of the insured person.

If an incident occurs during a lesson, document the situation as accurately as possible and contact the Adult Education Centre's customer service.

Medical expenses are covered for treatment received in both public and private healthcare sectors.

Insurance coverage limits

  • Medical expenses due to an accident: up to €5,000
  • Death caused by an accident: up to €5,000
  • Permanent disability caused by an accident: up to €10,000

There is no time limit for reimbursement of medical expenses and no deductible.

Compensation may include:

  • Costs related to the examination and treatment of the injury, such as hospital daily charges and prescribed medications
  • Reasonable and necessary travel expenses related to treatment, based on the condition of the injury
  • Repair costs of eyeglasses, hearing aids, dental prostheses, or safety helmets damaged in an accident requiring medical attention – or, if repair is not possible, the cost of acquiring a similar replacement
  • Costs of physical therapy prescribed by a doctor following surgery or cast treatment, limited to one treatment period of up to 10 sessions
