Early Childhood Education and Pre-primary Education Service Group

Early Childhood Education and Pre-primary Education provides statutory early childhood education services. Early childhood education and care supports the child's growth, development and learning in a child-centered manner in cooperation with the family. Early childhood education and pre-primary education are responsible for organizing activities in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act and the Basic Education Act, as well as for the development of early childhood education and pre-primary education.

Early Childhood Education and Pre-primary Education includes

  • open early childhood education and care
  • early childhood education and care in family daycare
  • early childhood education and care in daycare centres
  • pre-primary school education 
  • Erho unit for children and young people aged 0–18 with special care and education needs
