Adult of the Year award

Each year, the City of Tampere presents the Adult of the Year award. The award can be granted to a person, group or community that has acted in an exemplary manner and carried out significant work for the benefit of children and young people in Tampere. The prize has been awarded since 2007, and its theme changes annually. 

Anyone can propose candidates for the prize. The proposals can be submitted via an open application process in September–October. The selection is made by the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The prize is awarded annually at an event related to the World Children’s Day on 20 November. The award includes a diploma and a prize that supports the recipient’s activities. The prize is specified individually for each recipient.
