Retake exams

Retake eligibility

A student may attempt to retake a failed examination once. They are eligible to participate in the retake, if:

  • They received a failed grade (4) for the study module, or
  • They received a grade marked as "to be completed" (T), or
  • They missed the exam due to illness on the original exam day

To be eligible, the student or his/her guardian must contact the subject teacher and the group advisor on the morning of the original exam day.

Students can see the missing components and their deadlines in Wilma under the "Performances" tab in the Additional Information section of the study module. This section may also include a provisional grade based on incomplete work.

Students may be directed to complete the module in the special education teacher's TEE workshop.

Registration for retake

Students register for the retake exams via the "Exams" tab in Wilma.

If a student has missed multiple exams during the final week, they must register for all missed exams first. Based on these registrations, the school determines how many students need multiple retakes. After registration closes, the assistant principal will post a notice on Wilma indicating which exams will be held on the retake day.

The retake session lasts three hours. Students may take up to two exams or focus on one exam. If a student is unable to complete all missed exams on the retake day or if one of his/her exams is missing from the list, they must contact the study counsellor in advance. The counsellor will help determine how to complete each module.

If the retake date is not suitable for the student, the retake is postponed to the next retake date. Schedules are available on the school's website under Academic year schedules.

Participation on retake day

The retake dates can be found in the Academic Year Schedules section.

The retake exams are held from 14.30-17.30 in rooms 355-357. Students with approved extra time may stay until 18.00. Missing the exam without an acceptable excuse counts as an attempt,

Students must attend regular classes on the retake day.

Arrive on time - exams start at 14.30. Late arrivals must wait until the invigilator admits them after starteing the session for those on time.
