International Rellu
International affairs in Rellu
Tampere Lyseo Upper Secondary School has an international atmosphere and more than 30 different mother tongues are spoken in our school. We organise an annual International Day, where students present their own cultures through music, food and pictures. In addition, an information session is held for all students on current and future international projects at our school. First year students will also be introduced to the language offerings of our school for future language choices.
Erasmus+
Tampere Lyseon Upper Secondary School is an Erasmus+ accredited organisation, which enables us to implement international projects on a more long-term basis than before. Every student at our school has the opportunity to apply for projects, and we try to offer the opportunity to as many students as possible.
When selecting students for projects, we take into account factors such as: year level, possible target language and regular school attendance. More detailed selection criteria will be presented at the information session for each project.
Nordplus
Nordplus is a funding scheme between the Nordic and Baltic countries that enables cooperation between educational institutions in the Nordic-Baltic countries. Tampereen lyseon lukio has been involved in Nordplus-funded projects for several years now.
For the academic years 2024-2026, Finland, Estonia, Norway and Iceland will participate in the project. The theme of the project is tutoring systems and peer mentoring in schools. There will be meetings in each participating country, with four students from each country and one or two teachers from each country attending each meeting. The team arrived in Finland in October 2024.
ISLI - International Student Leadership Institute
The International Student Leadership Institute (ISLI) is an international leadership training course for young people, held annually in February and March. The training is conducted in English and includes group work, plays, competitions, lectures, brainstorming, and the preparation and delivery of presentations. Rellu has a long tradition of participating in ISLI training.
International visitors
Every year, our high school receives international visitors who want to get to know the Finnish school system. During their visit, they observe some lessons and also have the opportunity to talk to students. Foreign visitors also visit different subjects either on the spot or remotely.
