The Advisory Board for Roma society
The task of the Advisory Board for Roma Society is to enhance the inclusion of the Roma population and promote their opportunities for participation in Tampere. It also aims to strengthen interaction and cooperation between public authorities and the Roma community.
The Advisory Board is appointed by the Mayor. Its purpose is to promote equality for the Roma community in Tampere in relation to the city's services. It also implements Finland’s National Roma Policy at the local level.
The board meets 3 to 5 times a year. It also helps organize the National Roma Day on April 8 and takes part in the Anti-Racism Week held in March.
