The Syteen tai saveen exhibition showcases works by adult students of basic education in handicrafts at Sampola
The pieces in the Syteen tai saveen exhibition were created by fourth-year students of basic education in handicrafts during the creative ceramics module.
– Central to the process has been making one’s own creative thinking visible and emphasizing it, says Ulla Tujula, teacher and coordinator responsible for basic education in handicrafts.
Students have also explored impressive clay working and decoration techniques.
– The goal was to focus on structure and avoid glazes, Tujula explains.
The Syteen tai saveen exhibition in the Sampola lobby will be on display until 28 February 2026. Admission is free.
Current application information for basic education in handicrafts will be published on the Centre’s website in spring.
The aim of these studies is to develop the student’s expressive skills, mastery of materials and techniques, and to deepen the adult learner’s personal relationship with handicrafts, design, and art. The duration of the basic studies is about four years, and the advanced studies about 2.5 years.
