The Kauppi–Niihama hiking trails are being improved. A draft recreation trail plan will be completed by the end of 2026, and implementation will begin in 2027.
The aim is to develop marked routes for hiking, mountain biking, trail running and horse riding in the Kauppi–Niihama area, making use of existing paths. New rest areas are also planned, including locations along the shores of Lake Näsijärvi, at the Niihama Outdoor Lodge and around Lake Alasjärvi. Some of the new rest areas will be accessible.
The routes are intended to guide movement, reduce wear on the terrain and accommodate the needs of different user groups without significant forest clearance or the construction of new paths.
The survey gathers residents’ and visitors’ wishes, ideas and feedback on developing the area.
In the online survey, you can mark your wishes and suggestions for hiking trails in Kauppi–Niihama directly on a map. You can also provide feedback on the area’s existing routes and rest areas. In addition, the survey explores how recreational services are used and what matters most to people who enjoy outdoor recreation. You may also leave open-ended feedback.
Completing the survey takes approximately 5–10 minutes. The survey is available in Finnish and English.
